1:43 Car Models

Friday, October 30, 2009 0 comments
Here are the detail pictures of the 1:43 that were recently purchased online. These ain't cheap given the scale of the model. I can get a 1:18 car model for the price I have to pay (especially for that McLaren F1 GTR). 1:43 are quite expensive compare to 1:18 because of the details and quality of the models.

BMW McLaren F1 GTR, a legend in the making. The fastest and most expensive cars in the world of automotive history for almost two decades.

Mr.Bean(Rowan Atkinson) owned one but crashed it!

Porsche Boxster (2000), very first generation.

W.I.P - Chevy Camaro 69' Pt.3

A step closer to completion, I had added a few more bits and pieces onto the Camaro. The chrome bar at the front bumper and rear bumper had been attached. You can also notice the little smalll spoiler just below the front bumper too. More visible is the rear tail spoiler. Next up will be the decals and some final touch up and then it will be completed!

W.I.P - Chevy Camaro 69' Pt.2

Monday, October 19, 2009 0 comments
If readers can recall on July post, I had started to build both the Lamborghini Countach and Chevy Camaro. Lamborghini Countach is 95% to completion as I am still awaiting a few more items being sent to me. As for the Chevy Camaro 69', I would say 90% near to completion. This kit is made by Revell USA, so far I do not have any trouble with fitting issue so I decided to purchase another new Revell USA kit, the Dodge Challenger 2009. I always had the passion for all those American Muscle cars. Very muscular and bulky vehicles. Too bad we can't import the real thing over here. Oh by the way, Revell USA scaling is 1:25, not the usual 1:24. Weird.

Here are some pictures taken a few nights ago, had it sprayed in Orange from Tamiya Paint

I am still deciding whether to have the white or black decal strips on both front and rear bonnets

The chrome on all the windows surround took me almost 2 hours to stick and fit!

Not too shabby I guess :P, this is a quick built so polishing and sanding did not apply to this kit.

Stay tuned for more pictures

W.I.P - Revell Audi R8 Pt.2

Continuation of my Project R8, so far so good. Revell Germany is not a bad kit to build actually. I had tried Revell USA, Monogram and AMT before and for an inexperience builder I would highly recommend you stay away from those and stick with Japanese kits.

Sorry guys I didn't take any pictures of how I build the engine...

...anyway, here are the results. I always try to build my model as close to the original car as possible. I personally hate to paint parts which are not original to the car. e.g oversize ugly chrome rims, colorful interior and body color that doesn't even exist on the real car....

....here are the mock up of the car naked body with the chrome rims....

Will try to get the interior done now....more pictures coming soon

W.I.P - Revell Audi R8 Pt.1

Nothing much happening lately, so decided to start my latest car model project Audi R8. So far so good as I had never tried Revell Germany kit before. We shall see how it progress in the following weeks. By looking at the model kits I would say it is on par with Japanese Kit. I will have to start putting the parts together and see whether it is up to the standard. I had started to prepare the parts with primer, sanding and triming. Here are some prepared parts and kits.

Star Wars Stuff

I am not very much into Star Wars but do collect some of their merchandises. I m not so much into their figurines or vehicles.

Here are some items that I ordered online from Japan. I am not too sure of their manufacturers but I do know I got it for a song.

R2D2 Mini Speakers. Details is acceptable but too bad the speaker is crap. You can't play the music too loud or else you will hear it fart....

Star Wars Light Saber table light. The instruction said that you can either play with it or had it stand vertically and pretend it is a table light(?)...Who wants to use a light saber for a table light ??
